1. Data controller

MisterFav is operated by Nicolas Jacquet. For any questions regarding the protection of your data, contact us at: contact@nicolasjacquet.be.

2. Data we collect

We only collect data necessary to provide the service:

  • Account data: email address, name (if provided), authentication method (email/password, Google or GitHub OAuth).
  • Bookmark data: saved URLs, titles, descriptions, images, auto-generated screenshots, tags, categories and AI analyses.
  • Technical data: connection logs, IP address, browser type — kept for security and diagnostics purposes.

3. How we use your data

Your data is used exclusively to:

  • Provide and improve the MisterFav service.
  • Authenticate your account and secure access.
  • Generate AI analyses (summaries, tags, categorization) from the URLs you save.
  • Send you service-related communications (account notifications, important changes).

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.

4. Third-party services

MisterFav uses the following third-party services:

  • Google Gemini: for AI analysis of saved page content. Only the URL and extracted text content are transmitted.
  • Google / GitHub OAuth: if you choose to sign in via these providers, we receive your email address and name.

5. Chrome Extension

The MisterFav extension only accesses the URL and title of the active tab when you click "Save." No data is collected in the background. The extension communicates exclusively with app.misterfav.com.

6. Data retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, all your personal data and bookmarks are permanently deleted within 30 days.

7. Security

We implement appropriate security measures: password hashing, HTTPS connections, restricted database access, and access monitoring. No system is infallible — in the event of a data breach, we will notify you as soon as possible.

8. Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Access: obtain a copy of your personal data.
  • Rectification: correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure: request deletion of your account and data.
  • Portability: export your bookmarks (JSON or Excel).
  • Objection: object to the processing of your data.

9. Cookies

MisterFav uses a session cookie strictly necessary for authentication. We do not use tracking, advertising or analytics cookies.

10. Changes

This policy may be updated. In case of material changes, we will notify you by email or through the application. The last update date is shown at the top of this page.
